Known Problems or Incompatibilities with FilterTop 1.0 - 4/17/96
- FilterTop is known to have problems with Aladdin Systems "Aladdin Desktop ShortCut" when adding files to the file queue using a file selection dialog. If using this utility, either disable it permanently, or disable it temporarily by holding down the Shift key when using a file selection dialog.
- There is an incompatibility with the system extension "DragWindow II" which causes a window to be dragged instead of a Filter.
- Aliases placed in the file queue or selected in the file selection dialog will get resolved. Care needs to be taken because aliases to folders, volumes, or servers will get the whole content of those items added to the file queue!
- Aliases to the Filters Folder and FTSlides Folder don't always get resolved properly and may result in FilterTop hanging upon launch. Avoid moving those folders and aliasing them until future versions fix that problem.
- Pasting text from the clipboard into the file queue will produce a "FTclipboard" file. This file is in the invisible "Temporary Items" folder. You should make sure to route or copy to another folder (with the appropriate Filter) any FTclipboard files or you won't be able to locate them after processing.
Known Bugs
- Clicking and dragging too quickly in the Filter tool pallet may highlight the wrong Filter.
- FTWindow may experience problems when scrolling back in situations where there is large amounts of text sent to it.
